Hosting Dinner at St. Patrick's...

When: Each Saturday from October to May (St. Catherine's serves the 3rd Saturday)

Where: At St. Patrick's Pro Cathedral on Central Avenue in Newark

Who is served?: The hungry, the homeless, the addicted; the lost and forgotten souls who reveal to us the face of God. Each a human being who (like us) was born with rights, dignity, and hope.

Why?: To demonstrate our friendship and restore nourishment and hope for those who struggle daily just to get by.

How can you be the hand of God, reaching out to help those less fortunate,

even in these tough economic times?

Will you sponsor a guest or needy family this year for dinner?  We serve about 150 people on 8 Saturdays yearly, spending about $2.00 on each diner. A good, wholesome, appreciated dinner to those who need it‑‑for about the cost of a Sunday newspaper.

How many souls can you help this year?  Each dollar you give is a gift directly to God who blesses our generosity.

What can you do? This year, instead of asking you to send in a monthly food item, we are asking you to send a donation to help our work during 2009‑2010. Please send your donation in an envelope addressed to Charlotte Leeds. Please be as generous as you can. If you wish to send a check, please make them payable to St. Catherine of Siena Church, and return the envelope to the school or the rectory.

When the Son of Man comes as King,

and all the angels with him,

He will put the righteous people at his right.

He will say, "I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty

and you gave me a drink .... Whenever you did this

for one of the least important of these brothers of mine,

you did it for Me."

 - Matthew 25
